bed Private Rehabilitation Unit with all private rooms, providing you specialized treatment programs. Getting you better ... getting you home.
This unit assists in the transition from hosptial to home. We also offer a certified aquatics program to assist you with your recovery.
Physical Therapy
Our physical therapy program revolves around helping patients regain physical mobility, strength, balance, and endurance. Physical therapists use treatment methods designed to assist patients with sitting and standing balance, ambulation, stair climbing, and wheelchair mobility to achieve independence in their daily life. Physical therapy is coordinated by a staff of physical therapists and physical therapists assistants who provide a team approach to patient care. After an initial consultation, an individualized treatment program is designed by the evaluating physical therapist. Each patient in the program is then cared for by a physical therapist and an assistant. The team cares for the patient through the entire treatment program, providing the most effective, consistent treatment possible.
Occupational Therapy
We enhance the skills needed for individuals in their daily life. The program is made up of highly qualified professionals who work together to develop individual patient plans based on their needs. The primary goal of occupational therapy is to promote independence in all areas of living.
A sampling of some of the daily living skills addressed are: Dressing/Feeding, Writing/Shopping/Banking, Functional Transfers, Work Simplification, and Cognitive/Perceptual/Motor Training.
Speech and Language Therapy
We designed our speech and language program to meet the diagnostic and therapeutic needs of patients experiencing communication disorders. Services are structured by licensed and certified speech/language pathologists to meet the individual needs of each patient and their families.
Our approach achieves maximum results when evaluating and treating Aphasia, Apraxia, Dysarthria, Cognitive/Linguistic Treatment, Dyspahgia, and Fluency Disorders.
Community Programs
We offer a community pool exercise program at our Brookwood facility, for people of all ages with disabilities and older adults. We also offer Arthritis water classes.
